GENEVA: The World Health Organization (WHO) hopes that the coronavirus vaccine will be offered in poor and low-income countries by February.

WHO Senior Adviser Bruce Aylward on Monday said the WHO would be able to introduce COVID-19 drugs to the poorest and lowest countries in February through its COVAX program.

“More than 40 countries have now started vaccinating against COVID-19. However, all of those vaccinations, or almost all of them, have been in high-income countries or low-income countries so far, ”he said. “We need to see vaccines go into lower and lower levels.

He said the COVAX program could start vaccinating people in February, and there were efforts to speed it up so more vaccines in developing countries could happen this month.

The United Nations has repeated its orders for companies that produce vaccines under the COVAX program.

Meanwhile, Palestine has been in contact with four vaccine companies, including a Russian one, to get the vaccine.
